On Sunday, my friends Rael and Scott had a joint birthday gathering. Our first stop was the Cat and Fiddle in Hollywood where we all ate and had some drinks. Afterward we went to the Dragonfly to see the Spazmatics. They are an 80′s coverband. They cover  pop, new wave and rock. Their thing is they dress up like dorks – hence the name Spazmatics. I’ve gone to see them over a dozen times and always have fun. Some of the friends that came with us thought it would suck when they first saw the band. After seeing and hearing them play for just one song, that went away.

There are two things that typically occur during a Spazmatics show. One is there will eventually be a bunch of hot young women dancing on stage. The other is that the lead singer (Kevin) will at some point take a girl’s shoes off and start sucking her toes. The tgirls in our group included Kristin Kyle, Yasmin Lee, Sasha, Valerie Palacios and a few others you may have seen in some of my party photo features. I knew that at some point Sasha would be one of those girls on stage and I knew that she would be the one getting her toes sucked. I was of course right on both accounts. In fact, all the girls I mentioned above were eventually on stage. But Sasha was the first one and I watched the way Kevin reacted to her and probably knew what was coming before he did.
